Estonia’s Enterprises for 2012 are PKC Eesti AS and EMT
On 20 September, PKC Eesti AS was recognised as the overall winner of the Entrepreneurship Award 2012 organised by Enterprise Estonia, whereas AS EMT was declared the most competitive enterprise based on the Estonian Companies’ Competitiveness Ranking 2012 compiled by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation already for the second consecutive year. The Entrepreneurship Award is funded by the European Social Fund.![]()
In addition to the two main awards, winners in four categories and the most competitive companies in 13 categories were announced at the gala held at the Estonia Concert Hall.
Manufacturer of mobile developments Creative Mobile OÜ was declared Starter of the Year. Their popular game Basketball Shots 3D has been downloaded more than 7.4 million times, making it one of the most popular Android-based mobile game.
Molycorp Silmet OÜ, one of the biggest manufacturers of rare metals and earth metals in Europe, was declared Exporter of the Year.
Vihula Manor Hospitality OÜ that has developed a 16th century manor ensemble into a modern recreation centre was awarded the title Tourism Innovator of the Year.
The jury decided that PKC Eesti AS that manufactures cable ties for truck and electronic industries, employing 1,100 people in factories in Haapsalu and Keila is worthy of the title of Foreign Investor of the Year.
The winners of the four categories competed for the title Entrepreneurship Award 2012, which was given to PKC Eesti AS.

The aim of the Entrepreneurship Award competition is to convey the state’s recognition to successful enterprises and improve awareness of entrepreneurship. The best in the award categories were selected by experts from various sectors, with the winner of the main award selected by a high-profile jury headed by Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts.
The aim of compiling the Competitiveness Ranking is to identify the most competitive enterprises, offer enterprises an opportunity to compare themselves against other enterprises of their kind, and assess the success, performance and sustainability of Estonian enterprises. The Competitiveness Ranking is compiled as a general ranking, for small and medium-sized enterprises and by area of activity in 13 categories.
